Sacraments:

 

Baptism

 

Baptism of Infants (less than 8 years old):  Baptisms are held once a month, except during Lent. Parents need to have an interview with one of the priests of the parish. Then a date is arranged for the one-session baptismal preparation for parents and god parents.
Baptism of children 8-15 years old: Preparation starts in September with Religious Education. Children are being prepared to receive baptism, I communion, and confirmation at the end of three years of preparation.
Baptism of Adults: Preparation starts in September with a group of adults receiving Baptism, Communion, and Confirmation following the rite of Christian Initiation of Adults in a three-four year journey of faith.
Godparents: Only one godparent required; if two are chosen one has to a male and the other a female. Godparents need to obtain a letter of their stating they are an active Catholic; older than 15; have received I Communion and Confirmation; and if married, the marriage has to be in the Catholic Church. Godparents need to come for baptismal preparation with parents or in their parish. To receive a certification to be a godparent, parishioners need to fulfill all the requirements and they need to be active registered members for, at least, two months.

 

I Communion

Children receive I Communion as part of their Religious Education formation after a minimum of two years.  Youth and adults start their preparation with Religious Education in September.

 

Confirmation

Youth receive confirmation as part of their Religious Education formation after a minimum of two years. Adults start in September. Sponsors fro confirmation need the same requirements than godparents of baptism.

 

Marriage

The couple needs to arrange an interview with one of the preparation which lasts six months. Bride and groom need to bring a new certificate of baptism and confirmation, attend a marriage preparation course and agree in the details of the wedding. People previously married need a declaration stating they are free to marry again. Music and singing available upon request.

 

Reconciliation (Confession of Sins)

On Saturday as per parish calendar; by appointment at any time and in communal celebration during Advent and Lent.

 

Anointing of The Sick:

By appointment with a priest for serious health situations and risks.

  

Holy Orders/ Religious Life:

Funerals

Please call the rectory for the wake and funeral Mass. There is a booklet to help families make the funeral arrangements with practical information for the funeral home, family members and Catholic cemeteries. This booklet also contains Scriptures readings for the funeral Mass, vigil service and committal service, plus suggestions for music.

Music and singing  for the Funeral Mass are available upon request.

House Blessing Please call the rectory to arrange for a member of our clergy to go to your house.
Sweet sixteen

Blessings are done in church on Saturdays and evenings for parish youth confirmed or in preparation. Please call the rectory for arrangements.

Registration Registration in the parish is necessary to receive declarations to eligibility to be a godparent (after two months of registered active participation), of being an active member of the catholic church, for donations given to the church and job or character recommendations; to receive parish mailings and discounts for services (after six months; using the envelopes at least once a month.)
